Award winning historic renovation of an antique home in Wilton CT

Renewing the Character of a Historic Home (Wilton, CT)

HOBI Silver Award Winner

Outstanding Residential Remodel $250-$500K

Clark Construction returned this 1780’s home to its elegant roots – with a two story kitchen and master bath addition that looks like it has always been there.

A curved roof integrates the new space harmoniously with the original structure. A carriage house style barn complements the house, and provides a much needed detached garage.

Clark Construction completed this family room addition with media room and kitchen.

Adirondack Warmth meets Traditional New England Style

Chrysalis Award Winner Best Addition Over $100K
Qualified Remodeler Master Awards -

2nd Place - Best Addition Over $100K

Clark Construction transformed the main living areas of this home by adding on, opening up, and adding copious amounts of traditional moldings and detailing.

No matter where you stand, an interesting architectural element catches your eye, whether it is the coffered ceiling, a round window, the arched entry into the family room, or specific design details in the kitchen.

Total house makeover of 1850’s home in Cannondale, CT.

Best Historic Renovation (Wilton, CT)

Chrysalis Award Winner Best Historic Renovation $750K-$1M

Clark Construction took the back and several additions off this 1850’s home and replaced them with more stylistically appropriate additions and a barn - like garage. The interior was refitted to reconfigure the type and size of the living spaces.

The kitchen was moved to the center of the house, and reconfiguration was done on both 1st and second floors to improve the flow and add modern amenities. The final product: an up to date historic renovation that the family will enjoy for years to come. The look of the home was enhanced through the lines of the additions, and in the interior detailing. We were able to reclaim much of the flooring, and the homogeneity of reclaimed and “new” antique planks throughout the home pulls it all together.

Master bath with a Japanese flair, renovated by Clark Construction in Ridgefield, CT.

Master Bath with a Japanese Flair (Ridgefield, CT)

Chrysalis  Award Winner Best Bath $40-$60K
HOBI Award: Best Bath Under $60K

Our clients challenged us to come up with an open plan for a master bath with a Japanese flair. They wanted to have a bathroom attached to their master suite without any doors (to the bath itself, the shower enclosure or the toilet compartment), but still wanted privacy within the bathroom itself. What a challenge!

Clark Construction divided the room using glass-topped knee wall, creating private areas while at the same time providing visual continuity between the spaces. This award was judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.

A Fun and Relaxing Basement (Wilton, CT)

Chrysalis Award Best Basement
Also Featured in Women's Day Specials

The rest of the client’s home was extremely formal; well suited to business entertaining. They wanted for a space to counterbalance this formality - a place where they could bring their close friends and family and just really relax…. and have fun.

The space created doesn’t really look like a finished basement, but rather part of their house that was always there. It's fully featured with an exercise room, (complete with mirrors and a ballet barre), a billiards area, wet bar, office, craft studio and child's play area, as well as a full bath with body sprays and a steam shower.

How do You Fit a Round Peg in a Square Hole? (Ridgefield, CT)

Chrysalis Award Winner
Best Bath Over $60K

With a drastic overhaul, this 70’s master bath was transformed.

The star of the show is still the round window but it now hangs over an amazing tub platform and has a proper frame. They work together so well that you almost don’t care about the view anymore.
